One of Zoë Pepper's goals is to build an inspiring online community for advertising freelancers. With our launch fast-approaching in September, we'd like to start early by posting some great material picked out for freelancers by two of our own.

Frazer and Samantha Howard, a multi-award winning freelance team, tell us about their current media of choice, podcasts:

"I find it quite an easy way of absorbing information that you can file for future creative use," says Frazer.

99% Invisible is their favorite at the moment. Reminiscent of BBC documentaries, the episodes focus on an aspect of the day-to-day that would often be overlooked - objects, sights and sounds, identifying their origins and contextual significance.

What content has stood the test of time? John Cleese's talk on How to be Creative. And yes, it is exactly what you might expect from an ex Monty Python. Greatly informative and profound, told under the guise of someone who claims to know nothing about it.

Where do I look for career-focused content? BeingFreelance features episodic interviews covering a range of disciplines, from people all around the world.

For the career how-to's, 99u has lots of information about how to navigate in the freelance landscape for newbies and veterans alike.

Expert Reads will be published once a month, with one or two featured freelancers per post. If you'd like to take part, please sign up.
